The Pantera seems to use a std flywheel with an "automatic" position of the
starter ring gear (back toward the crank rather than a little forward). Don't
know if this is common to ALL 351Cs or just the Pantera. Steve L??? J DeRyke

Don't confuse the part number with the casting number with the actual stamped
number with the date code...... See other post regarding four digit date
code. Casting number is simply the physical casting used to make the part.
Stamped number "C7TE-A" is the actual version made from the original casting.
This stamped number determines the application. Not always did Ford apply
what they made ... ie why the "T" when they didn't have small blocks.... 6
cylinder is probably where it was used as a "big" version compared to the
sixes you'd find in the Falcons etc.
Lastly, the partnumber in the books, is simply the number that you would find
on the box that your part would come in...... and that you had to order.

Well, looking in the orange parts book it shows the flywheel as a C6TZ-6375-C
and the description says that the casting number is C7TE-6375-A and has 164
teeth. Looking in a Ford engine book yields that the T code is for a Truck.
The starter appears to have a code of C5TZ which also has a truck code.
Interesting thing is the date code is for 1965 (C5). This said, trucks back
then had bigblock FE engines and six cylinders. Could we have a starter for a
six or a 390??? If I can remember to take measurements I will look up the
various starters at the local store we have where all their starters are on
the shelf for anyone to look through.
