QOTW:
I envision in the future, say in 2010 among the TCT:
Someone: Hey shouldn't we think about releasing 8.5b2 any time soon?
Second one: Not yet! I've got these 20 prio-9 bugs still open,
three typos in README, the others in ChangeLog
Third one: Wasn't there also that bug with \0-chars in << arg
		   to exec?
Second one: Hey we don't want to delay it further than necessary..

POTW:
ANNOUNCE Poet 2.0.2 by Phil Mercurio
	http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.tcl/browse_thread/thread/279dedaf3a4552af
Poet (Prototype Object Extension for Tcl) is an object-oriented
extension to Tcl/Tk that features prototype-based inheritance,
constraints, and persistence. It includes Poetics (Poet Integrated
Construction Set), a set of tools allowing the end-user to inspect
and modify a running Poet application.
This release adds support for Tcl/Tk 8.5b1. The slideshow
program I used to demo Poet at Tcl'2007 is included as an
example of how to set up and wrap a Poet application. A
few additional Tk widgets have been assimilated, and a few
    bugs have been fixed.

Windows binary for tile under vista... by Georgios Petasis
	http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.tcl/browse_thread/thread/da8590528b87e2cb
As ActiveTcl's tile does not work under vista,
I compiled tile 0.8.1 (directly from tile CVS) with visual studio 2005.
Just unzip it in the lib directory of your ActiveTcl installation.
If you cannot load the tile dll, then download & install the
microsoft visual C 2005 runtime from microsoft.

Thanks for Arjen Markus for his weekly summary of Wiki action:
Work on "next generation Tk" continues at a rapid pace,
but let us not forget the other subjects the Tcl community
  is busy with.

  GUI tools
  - Techniques for selecting an arbitrary rectangle - including
    rotated ones: <http://wiki.tcl.tk/20154>

  - Customising Tile widgets seems quite possible, though the
details need some attention. Here is a Mac-style search
    widget: <http://wiki.tcl.tk/18180>

  - And just one of the "next generation Tk" widgets, arbitrarily
chosen from the vast list - <http://wiki.tcl.tk/20158>

  Not so well known perhaps
  - On the French Wiki, Kroc notices that the computations that
the clock command can do, are underdocumented ... Get a taste
for them with these examples - <http://wfr.tcl.tk/1528>

  - Tcllib contains a module that provides name services, both
client and server side. Check it out: <http://wiki.tcl.tk/18306>

  Potpourri
  - XML parsing seems to fascinate people, here is yet another
    shot at it: <http://wiki.tcl.tk/20146>

  - But perhaps co-routines as an extension are more surprising:
    <http://wiki.tcl.tk/20153> leverages the ucontext functions

  - So, what is your favourite aspect of Tcl? Or Tk?
By no means an inquiry, <http://wiki.tcl.tk/20150> shows
    some of Tcl's surprising capabilities.
