QOTW: "Coroutine resuming is faster than proc calling." - Miguel Sofer
"There's no locale like C." - Richard Suchenwirth
There certainly was a spirited discussion of Tcl's generation;
did it reach conclusions?

Many important announcements occurrred during the week, including
assets for OS X and Alexos Stergiakis' explosion of functionality for
tcl-pam, tcl-snmptools, tcl-mmap, and many more:

Thanks to Arjen Markus for his weekly summary of Wiki action:
With the Wiki having gained a new service (see below), let us
start the summary without further ado.
Specific tools
- While we all love Tcl/Tk for its platform-independence, should one
always shy away from things that are _not_ platform-independent?
wiki.tcl.tk/17742
- SYLK is one of those "other" spreadsheet programs. But the files
it produces are much easier to manipulate than, say, MS Excel
files. And MS Excel can import them ... wiki.tcl.tk/21551
- And the missing pieces for the above can be found in the "Half-Bakery"
a sort of Wiki-like repository, now open for contributions - if
they are suitably under-documented and unfinished, that is:
wiki.tcl.tk/21550
Wishful thinking
- The quest for the bounds of what Tcl can do continues: code
and data really become indistinguishable - wiki.tcl.tk/21556
- A simple wish for the canvas: transparancy. This and other topics
at wiki.tcl.tk/1415.
- Tables are definitely the best way to display, well, tabular data.
Here is another megawidget for dealing with such displays. And
do look at the linked site for other goodies. wiki.tcl.tk/5286
- One of the reasons your Wiki chronicler loves maths, is that it can lead
to a sort of music for the eyes. wiki.tcl.tk/19671
- And here is a little application from yours truly. Not much documentation
I am afraid, but it is an inspired one: wiki.tcl.tk/21580
Everything Tcl-related you want is probably one or two clicks away in these

though clta itself is dormant.

We're working on more useful archives of past installments. In the
meantime, an alternative is
