Cetane Improver for Gasoline

Approximately 1000 mile test of 1993 Ford Aerostar in traffic without
Cetane Improver gave me close to 13 MPG in LA traffic.

Switching to Cetane Improver at 1 ounce per gallon raised my gas milage
to consistently between 18 and 19 MPG.

Unoptimized by any known means save the original unmodified factory
computer.

Results in. Case closed. No further discussion needed.

Next to vinegar injection.

Diesel Kleene. The 6 cetane improver not the standard Auto Zombie 4
Cetane Improver. Sold at Walley World and the truck stops. About
$10.00 per 32 ounces.

The aerostar is designed for regular gasoline and EPA bullsheet. No
changes whatever.

One ounce per gallon seems to work. At the start of the experiments, I
carried a gallon of zylene with me. Waited till the tank was about
empty and then, knowing about how much fuel I needed I poured the right
guesstimate of cetane improver in. Then I filled the tank. Cetane
first - then gasoline. The incoming gasoline sloshing around the tank
mixes it fairly well and bouncing around on the road finishes the
blending.

If you getting pinging or knock ( listen carefully ) or the temperature
goes up - stop, pour in the xylene, and let idle for a few minutes. The
super octane zygote will overcompensate for the Cetane improver. Run
that tank out, pour say another 5 gallon gasoline in, run that out, then
try a different blend or give it up.

I would not try this on a Premium octane vehicle yet - but on regular
fuel vehicle driven normally - it should be fine. A knock sensor will
compensate for the increased "knock" under unusual circumstances and
make it work really well.

Most of the time you only need 50 hp or so at about 50 octane or so for
normal start run etc.

Cetane Improver speed combustion up. Under light or crusing load, the
engine is in a major vacuum and the mixture burns slowly and not
delivering enough power. Thus we add a crapload of spark advance.

Cetane greatly speeds the combustion.

Then the internet gurus will blather about just changing the spark
advance. This moves the peak but the combustion time is unchanged.
Cetane reduced the time - making the combustion more efficient and a
greater portion of energy released near tdc.

You know the driving characteristics of your vehicle. Baseline by feel
and measurement the performance of the vehicle. Start running a milage
test today if you have not. Get to know what you milage is and how much
fuel it takes to fill the tank at various gas gauge reading.

Absolute Purchase - A funnel that will fit THRU the unleaded trap on
your engine. Most funnels sold at Auto Zombie will not fit.

Within minutes of adding cetane, you should notice that acceleration is
quicker ( faster burn equals more power delivered at a given throttle ),
that the peddle takes less depression to maintain cruise, and that the
car stopped in drive will begin to move when the break is removed.

Stock with gasoline - no creep - no throttle in drive. With Cetane -
between 5 to 8 miles per hour.

This is good enough for me to deal with it - and its well past paying
for itself.

Other fuelish experiments planned.

Sitting right next to it was "Diesel Kleene" for about a buck more. The
white bottle has +4 Cetane Improvement, the Grey "Diesel Kleene" has +6
Cetane. Buy the Diesel Kleene - more Cetane and doubles as a background
fuel injector cleaner.
