Propane

Be very careful of high compression and  propane.  Its only good for
about 1 to 1.5 compression ratio increases over gasoline.  It research
octane is significantly higher - but the motor is about the same.

Builders of high performance propane cars - Ak Miller and company - were
very adamant about that.

Small quantities can change combustion favorably - but large
concentrations are not much better than gasoline.
