Lash Caps

- It's amazing how many companies want to sell you stuff, but don't know
anything about what they're selling. I've now invested an hour and $20 in
phone calls researching lash caps. I had no idea it was going to turn into
  a major project.
- Half the places had no idea how thick their caps were, but offered to
measure them while I waited. Some motors not too long ago used varying
thickness caps to adjust valve clearances; I thought they were still used
nowadays to dial in valvetrain geometry if you were using one piece pushrods
or something. Oh, no. The Curse of Dave strikes again...
- I can't possibly have been the first one to go through this routine, but
apparently nobody has seen fit to post the results. So here is some Secret
