When you say hard to start do you mean it turns over slowly? Slow to fire off? It could be several things as these cars are rather finicky. Make sure all your power and ground cables are in good shape, that you’ve got the proper 3 port fuel pump with return line and pump heat shield (provided you’ve still got the 462 MEL engine) or an electric…[Read more]

No aftermarket parts out there as far as floor pans, you’ll have to get them from a donor car. Definitely contact Mario – he can be reached at 760-646-7996 or email [email protected]

Nope, it sure won’t. You’ll need the C6 transmission from a 66 – 68 Lincoln with a 462 or the same trans from a 68 – 69 Lincoln with a 460. A regular big block C6 may fit, but it’s apt to be tight around the heater box on the firewall. Also, the frame rails above the motor mount area will need to be notched to clear the 460 exhaust manifolds.

68 – up Thunderbird/Mercury 429 or pretty much anything 1970 through 1978 with either a 429 or 460. Don’t get parts from a 1979 or newer 460 as they changed the balance on the rotating assembly.

If you want to ditch the crank mounted pump you’ll need the timing cover, balancer spacer, and power steering brackets & pump off a 429/460 with a standard style pump.
And don’t toss the old pieces, someone will want your old parts for cores.
