You know, I always forget the Cruise O Matic has a removable bell housing. It’s possible it might work with a bell housing swap.
Let me research this a bit and see if I can find a definitive answer.

Nope, it won’t work. A Thunderbird would have a 390 FE in it. While the bolt pattern is similar the starter location is different.

One of the main issues with the MEL series engines used in these Lincolns is that they used three different bell housings depending on the year. The early 383, 410, and 430 MEL engines from 1958 through 1960 used the same bell housing pattern as the FE series engines 332, 352, 390, 406, 410, 427, 428.
From 1961 through 1965 the Lincoln 430 u…[Read more]

Hey there, Dimitri. Welcome to the site!
Years ago I owned a 65 Lincoln Continental that started out in similar shape. I too had the oil pump shaft bend, however mine was due to the factory timing chain losing some of the nylon teeth on the cam gear due to old age and wear. Did you pull your engine apart and having the timing set replaced? If…[Read more]

Updated the current theme to the latest version.
Now profiles can have cover images just like Facebook! I also think this update should fix some of the small site bugs that pop up randomly, but as always leave me a message if you notice anything weird.
Also, there’s a image slider on the front page now. If you’d like your car featured on there…[Read more]

Good news bad news. Bad news I’m pulling the motor. During my clean-up of the 462 and taking it to shows etc. water got on the valley pan and ended up making it’s way down the back center bolt, which I didn’t have totally bolted down. For some reason the same size bolt as the other valley pan bolts (allen heads) needed to be shorter (back middle)…[Read more]
