Now that is strange, never seen a setup like that on any of my Lincolns. Does your starter positive lead go to one side of that? Maybe get me a couple wide shots of the battery & inner fender area?

Sean, where are you located? There are several qualified people to work on your Lincoln, it just depends on where you live

Shane, can you take a picture where your solenoid is? It sounds like it’s been moved from the factory location. Also, be sure to check your ground wires.

Jeremy replied to the topic Modern window motors for my 65 in the forum Tech Help 8 years, 2 months ago
Vent windows can be either manual crank or electric depending on how the car was optioned. I don’t know if anyone has swapped to different electric motors for the vent windows.

Joe,
These cars are unibody construction and it’s no simple matter to remove the fenders. It’s all welded together and the seam for the outer fenders is underneath the stainless trim that runs down the top of them. You’d have to remove the trim and drill out/chisel all the welds in order to get them off.
You can, however, remove some of the i…[Read more]

Jeremy replied to the topic 64 vert doors in the forum Tech Help 8 years, 5 months ago
As far as I know the sheet metal bits are the same and the differences are just in the misc. bits like the windows and tracks. There might be some minor differences with switch mounts – convertibles lower the windows when the rear doors are opened – but otherwise you should be good to go.

Jeremy replied to the topic 64 vert doors in the forum Tech Help 8 years, 5 months ago
Nick,
The basic sheet metal should be identical between the a same year convertible and sedan, however the window glass and some of the other bits will be different.
If you’ve got a 64 you can use the doors from a 64 or a 65.

For oil I’ve had excellent luck using Shell Rotella T diesel spec oil in all my vehicles past and present. Even though some of the zinc was removed from it a few years ago as required by the new regulations it still has more in it than most other oils.
For oil additives…[Read more]
