Has anyone thought to use a relay block and a microcontroller like an Arduino to control all aspects of the convertible roof? It seems to me the stock limit switches and motors would still work, but the operation would all be programmable. It would simplify the wiring dramatically and be less than $150.
Any thoughts? I’m thinking of trying it. The car is a total rebuild anyway.

Sounds like a good idea. I would love to know how you get on. the vert roof looks seriously complicated.
I plan on using pi’s and andrino’s I’m just now starting but they too for sure can be controlled
