The easiest swap is 65 – 69 Lincoln spindles, rotors, calipers, master cylinder, etc. It’s the route I would go if I were converting your car. The factory discs have big 4 piston Kelsey Hayes calipers and stops one of these cars with ease. If you go that route get the 66 – 69 booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve. The 65 still us…[Read more]

From everything I’ve found browsing around the Thunderbird and Lincoln transmission are different. The Lincoln is a large case transmission and the Thunderbird uses a medium sized case according to the folks I talked to. However, I’d put them side by side and give them a good looking over to make sure.
Good luck!

That’s a solid looking 61 and it’s awesome that it started right up with minimal work.
The trunk lid rot is typical on those cars, but generally a replacement can be sourced or yours might be repairable if it’s not too rotted.
I look forward to following your progress!

There were a couple hours downtime tonight due to another huge batch of updates and database maintenance. So far the site appears to be working smoothly once again, but as always let me know if you run across any bugs.
The MediaPress photo gallery received an update and hopefully it cleared up any glitches a few of you have emailed me about.

I haven’t had any issues with the gallery, but it’s possible there’s something going on since I’ve rolled out a ton of updates recently. What device/operating system and browser are you using to access the site?

So the motor ended up being fine. Long story short I installed the torque converter incorrectly. The plugs were not going thru the openings on the flex plate correctly. Nothing got damaged but having the motor ripped apart gave me the opportunity to get it cleaned up more. I have new gaskets coming to once again install the heads and get it…[Read more]

You know, I always forget the Cruise O Matic has a removable bell housing. It’s possible it might work with a bell housing swap.
Let me research this a bit and see if I can find a definitive answer.
